![]() Retelling the Mahabharata I think is daunting and exciting at the same time for any author. *Received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review I also have to commend the author for his writing. Now, on the flip side I muse admit that the pace of the book was one thing that irked me to no end: It was inconsistent. ![]() But when you read a book that is from this trope, are you really that surprised? Going into this, I knew that there would be certain things in this book that one would consider trigger warnings and also topics that one would voice their displeasure rather vocally. But having said that, I didn’t not enjoy it. Having read numerous books from this genre, Upon a Burning Throne is not my favourite fantasy read. ![]() Having read parts of the mahabharata during my school days that too in Hindi… I think I erased that ordeal from my memory but the Mahabharata has fascinated me so when this book was advertised as a re-telling of The Mahabharata but also called the Indian Game of Thrones ( A die hard GOT fan here □□♀️)…you can imagine that I was all for it. ![]()
